Pre Trial review (PTR)

The Court will usually schedule a pre trial review around 10 weeks before the trial date. The technical reason for this is to check that the parties have complied with all previous directions so that the case is ready for trial and to give directions for the trial if necessary. But having exchanged so much information about each other’s case, the opportunitiy to get the parties together this close to the trial is often seen as a prime opportunity for settlement discussions.

TYPICAL TIMESCALE – PTR TAKES 1 HOUR. ONE MONTH AFTER EXCHANGE OF EXPERT REPORTS
